King Calls On All People to Go to The Polls on July 23

PHNOM PENH: King Norodom Sihamoni called on all eligible voters to go to the polls on Sunday, July 23 to elect a national leader for the country’s development and prosperity in all areas.

The King said that the people need not worry about the oppression, threats or intimidation of any person or party as this general election will free, fair, and confidential in accordance with the principles of a liberal, multi-party democracy.

The King said, "I ask all compatriots to exercise their right to vote according to their own conscience. [They can vote with] confidence in any candidate and any political party freely."

The 7th National Assembly Election will be held on this Sunday, July 23, with 18 parties competing for parliamentary seats, of which the Cambodian People’s Party currently holds all.
